Our Story
BetterGreens started with a wild idea—to shake up India’s grocery game and make truly fresh, clean food the norm, not the exception.
Our founder, Sid Verma, has always been obsessed with food and farming. After a PhD in Agricultural Engineering and years of consulting on futuristic farms—Japanese strawberries, hydroponics, vertical gardens—he helped set up one of Delhi's first vertical farms. Then, just as things were taking off, an unexpected fire wiped it all out. Most would’ve walked away. Instead, Sid doubled down.
In 2020, we took our vision to the hills of Uttarakhand, growing incredible bell peppers, zucchinis, and broccoli with small farmers. Our mission? To supply the best restaurants with farm-fresh produce. Then the world shut down. Our restaurant clients vanished overnight, our plans went up in smoke, and we had a choice: give up or find a new way forward.
So, we did what any food-obsessed people would do—we loaded our cars with fresh produce and drove it straight to homes in Delhi NCR. What started as a few deliveries quickly became a full-blown movement. People didn’t just want grocery—they wanted better grocery.
Today, BetterGreens is so much more than just fresh produce. We bake our own sourdough, craft our own kombucha, and source the best pantry staples from like-minded farmers and makers. We believe in food that’s cleaner, fresher, and made the right way—without shortcuts, middlemen, or compromises.
